Spend some time with Megan Palmer, and you will walk away both uplifted by her positive demeanor, and challenged to infuse each day with purpose and direction as she does. Megan was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama where she spent many years actively involved in her church, competed in cheerleading, and even lettered in golf. Some of the joys of Megan's life include: playing around on . her guitar, singing (especially Karaoke style!), and loving on her three really big, white, fluffy Great Pyrenees. Even though she used to think it was crazy for people to actually decide to let a dog live in their house -- let alone multiple dogs! -- Megan now considers herself to be "that dog mom" as she raises her three "fur babies:" Cotton, Sugar, and Bohannon. Every day, Megan carries her favorite thought: "Love God, Love People," and she would tell you that above all, her desire is "to take as many people to Heaven with me as I can, just by living my life with the Lord out loud."
Megan is married to Jimmy Palmer, and the couple are AVID Disney lovers! And why wouldn't they be, considering that Disney is where Jimmy proposed, as well as where the newlyweds honeymooned? Not surprisingly, Disney World has remained a family favorite, and when the Palmer family is not physically there, you'll more than likely find them checking on the Orlando weather forecast, blissfully dreaming of when they are going back! The two have a rather entertaining history on top of that: they were only casual friends when Jimmy was invited to perform on a Christian dating reality TV show. Called "It Takes a Church," the point of the show was for church members to set up singles from the congregation on different dates, and for the singles to choose the "winner dates." At the time that Jimmy acted as the main character, Megan cheered him on from her role as congregation member in the show, but by the time the show aired a year later, the real Jimmy Palmer had selected Megan Jean as the date of his choice. Throughout their relationship, the couple proudly pointed out, "we all know who the REAL winner is!" Consisting of Megan, her husband, and Jimmy's 3 beautiful daughters, the Palmer family also loves hiking vacations, browsing antique shops for the latest treasure, and have a grand time at dinner parties at home with friends and family. With Jimmy also having his scuba license, the couple frequents Alabama's gorgeous Gulf beaches, and enjoys spending time on (and in!) the water.
War Eagle! Megan's love for Auburn runs deep (despite having married a die-hard Alabama fan!)...so naturally, Auburn is where Megan chose to attend college. Like mother, like daughter, Megan is blessed with a passion and natural talent for teaching; she attributes this quality to the influence of her mother, who has taught in the Alabama school system for forty years and counting. Megan passed several profitable years at Auburn University, where she made many good connections and still regularly finds common ground with new acquaintances as a result of her experiences there. Megan put her love of teaching to use in the arenas she views most beneficial: for a while, she volunteered at a Ladies Drug Recovery Center, where she taught women the basis for the Christian faith. She also teaches the youth at her church, and she is quickly applying these skills to the real estate field. Extremely capable of sympathizing with her clients, and knowledgeable of the home buying process, Megan possesses the teacher's qualities that benefit all homebuyers -- especially first-time buyers.
Not only has Megan pursued real estate for the satisfaction she receives from aiding others with buying and selling their homes, but this real of work also falls right in line with her husband's career goals as independent contractor. Jimmy and Megan have always aimed to make a business of flipping houses, so even during her five years as cosmetologist, Megan procured her RE license to this end. However, it was not until Megan recently pulled out of the salon scene that she was able to dive completely into real estate. Excited to be on this new path, Megan notes, "I love it and it is very much my personality. I love to help people and am confident enough to get things done and am not afraid to negotiate." Whether you've found in Megan a friend, a real estate agent, or both, rest assured that in this delightful woman, you've found a true gem!
